Watch this trailer of the remake of Left Behind, with Nicolas Cage as pilot Rayford Steele and Chad Michael Murray as Buck Williams. I have seen the original movie and I think it is fairly Biblically accurate, but many were disappointed with the quality of the movie. Hopefully this one will be better and will get more people out to see it.
I know that many would rather we put our emphasis of the work of the Church now—evangelism and discipleship. I agree with that too, but I think there is also a need to wake people up to what is soon to come, and also to bring comfort to those who are waiting for Him.
Jesus has said to us, “…I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me…” (Rev. 22:12).
The apostle Paul gave us this teaching on this great event:
1 Corinthians 15:51-52
Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep [not all die], but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed (bold for emphasis, and words in brackets for explanation).
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words (bold for emphasis).
