The way I see it, in this most perfect government, though glorified ones will be the primary rulers, mortal, sinful ones will also have a part in the government; and it appears to me that most of them, if not all of them, will be Jewish. Yes, the Jews, under the authority of Christ, will rule as princes over the earth, all with various ranks of rulership. Indeed, God will save them and make them holy; and He will delight in them and rejoice over them as a bride. Isaiah 62:1-5 describes this new standing Israel will have with the world and with her Lord.
Isaiah 62:1-5 For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, And for Jerusalem’s sake I will not keep quiet, Until her righteousness goes forth like brightness, And her salvation like a torch that is burning. 2 And the nations will see your righteousness, And all kings your glory; And you will be called by a new name, Which the mouth of the Lord will designate. 3 You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord, And a royal diadem in the hand of your God. 4 It will no longer be said to you, “Forsaken,” Nor to your land will it any longer be said, “Desolate”; But you will be called, “My delight is in her,” And your land, “Married”; For the Lord delights in you, And to Him your land will be married. 5 For as a young man marries a virgin, So your sons will marry you; And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, So your God will rejoice over you.
Yes, it will be quite a change for the Jews from what it has been. The Jewish people for many years have been persecuted, beaten down and treated as less than human. But in the millennium it will be reversed. The promise in Deuteronomy 28:13-14, will be fulfilled.
Deuteronomy 28:13-14 And the Lord shall make you the head and not the tail, and you only shall be above, and you shall not be underneath, if you will listen to the commandments of the Lord your God, which I charge you today, to observe them carefully, 14 and do not turn aside from any of the words which I command you today, to the right or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
The whole Gentile world will bow down to the Jew. Even those in top positions of authority, even kings, will regard them as greater than them.
Isaiah 49:22-23 Thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I will lift up My hand to the nations, And set up My standard to the peoples; And they will bring your sons in their bosom, And your daughters will be carried on their shoulders. 23 “And kings will be your guardians, And their princesses your nurses. They will bow down to you with their faces to the earth, And lick the dust of your feet; And you will know that I am the Lord; Those who hopefully wait for Me will not be put to shame.
Jews will be regarded as great, certainly, because they will have top government positions and will be directly involved in running the world—under the authority of Christ. But their high position will not alone cause the world to love them. I imagine that they will be loved and praised also because of their wisdom and skill in running the government and for their holy and godly character. And remember that the government in that day will not be as it is now—keeping religion out of it; rather, it will be involved in all aspects of life—especially religion. Hence, the Jewish government workers will be involved in all things for the good of the kingdom of God: secular things as well as spiritual things. They will be called priests and ministers of the Lord (Isa. 61:6).
As for the Gentiles, it appears from scripture that they will be Israel’s servants. But they won’t be unhappy or bitter because of their low position. It seems that they will be blessed and grateful for Israel for all they do for them. Listen to these verses from Zephaniah and Zechariah.
Zephaniah 3:20 “At that time I will bring you in, Even at the time when I gather you together; Indeed, I will give you renown and praise Among all the peoples of the earth, When I restore your fortunes before your eyes,” Says the Lord.
Zechariah 8:23 “Thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘In those days ten men from all the nations will grasp the garment of a Jew saying,” Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you. “‘”
