They were led as lambs to the slaughter — from Isaiah 53:7

21 killed

I have been reviewing Isaiah 53:7-8.  That phrase “like a lamb that is led to slaughter, and like a sheep that is silent before its shearers,” made me think of these brave men (pictured above) that gave their lives.  They were Christians and they were brutally killed for being Christians.  And they are my heroes!  Indeed, they have followed in the steps of the Master, our Savior.  And we owe them our praise.  I am all in favor of stopping these brute beasts, but in the meantime, while so many are being beheaded, crucified, burned alive and tortured, we ought to recognize and honor their sacrifice.

Isaiah 53:7-8

He was oppressed and He was afflicted,

Yet He did not open His mouth;

Like a lamb that is led to slaughter,

And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers,

So He did not open His mouth.

8 By oppression and judgment He was taken away;

Luke 21:9-11

When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.”

10 Then he said to them: “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.

  1. Lee says:

    I can’t hit the “Like”, but thank you for honoring these men and the others being slaughtered by these barbarian heathens.

  2. Genet says:

    I called them Christian Martyrs who died for Jesus Christ and we Christians should follow their examples!! This is only the beginning of Christian persecution–more to come!
