In the last few years people from around the world have been hearing eerie sounds in the sky. Just in the last couple of years some have recorded these sounds on You Tube, and now you can hear them for yourself. Here are two different web sites: click HERE and HERE.
What are these sounds? To me it kind of sounds like a whistling sound of the wind, or maybe like an elephant, or a whale, or a loud scraping sound. Here is what others have said it sounds like:
- “It sounds supernatural”
- “It sounds very eerie”
- “A hum”
- “It sounds like a trumpet or a horn, almost musical in quality”
I heard a person on one of those videos blow on a shofar, which is an ancient trumpet made of a ram’s horn. Yes, this mysterious sound sounds a lot like that, only much deeper and louder.
One person I heard gave a very scientific explanation. He said it is “an electromagnetic noise from the radiation belt around the earth. Another person said it may be the sound of the interface between the natural and supernatural.
Well,
- The geologist says, “The sound is not coming from in the ground.”
- The Air force says, “It is not in the air.”
- The astronomers say, “It’s not coming from space.”
A BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE
As a Christian and as a believer in the rapture of the church, I have an idea that I want to share with you. Could these trumpet-like sounds be “the trumpet of God” spoken of in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 and also described as the “last trumpet” in 1 Corinthians 15:52?
You may have always thought of this trumpet blast as lasting only a few seconds or minutes—as I have. But now I’m thinking, maybe the trumpet blast will last for a long long time, for years, to give us ample warning of His coming.
Do you know anything about the nature of this rapture trumpet sound? According to John MacArthur, “This is not the judgment trumpets of Revelation 8-11, but is illustrated by the trumpet of Exodus 19:16-19, which called the people out of the camp to meet God. Now if we read in Exodus, we will see that it was a very loud trumpet sound—loud enough for all to hear it. And I would think that it was also a blast that would last for a long time.
1 Corinthians 15:52 describes this trumpet blast as the “last trumpet.” This indicates that the rapture is the end of the church era. But could it also mean that the rapture trumpets will be a series of trumpet warnings, and when the angels sound the trumpets for the last time, that is when Christ will descend and rapture the church?
What do you think? From now on I will be listening more closely for those trumpet sounds, and I will be checking out more of those You Tube videos. Of course some of these sounds may be a hoax, but what if some of them are real?
I don’t know about you, but I am getting excited for His return!
